Place cards can be used in various creative ways to liven up your parties. When choosing table place cards for an event, there are many essential product features to consider. This guide will cover the key considerations you must make when selecting a set of place cards.

Quality/Durability

The quality and durability of the place cards should be one of your top priorities. You want to make sure the cards are made from a sturdy material that won’t tear or bend easily. Paper and cardstock are popular materials for place cards, but you may want to look into fabrics or wood as well for something more durable.

Size

Make sure the place cards will fit everything you plan to write on them comfortably. If you are writing out guests’ names and seating assignments on the cards, make sure to take that into account when measuring how large you need the cards to be. It is also helpful to measure the width of your tablecloths and confirm that the size of your cards will not overpower them.

Design

Choose a design that coordinates well with your dinnerware and table décor. Look for modern or vintage designs, or consider creating your own design for a unique touch. Be mindful of the room’s décor as well since you want the place cards to be in harmony with everything else in the area.

Color

Pick a color that complements the room and décor while being easy to read. Make sure there is enough contrast between the words or lettering and the background color of the card so that everything can be seen clearly from a distance.

Price

You want to get good value for your money when it comes to purchasing place cards, but also make sure they are worth the price you are paying. Quality should always come before quantity; choose something that will last through multiple uses and won’t need replacing anytime soon.

Customizability

Look for a set of place cards that can be customized with names, colors, or accents like ribbons or bows if desired. This is especially useful if you are using them for multiple events or occasions in the future.

Pre-Printed Options

If you don’t feel comfortable designing your own place cards, look for pre-printed options with designs that coordinate well with your event décor. This can save time since you don’t have to worry about designing each individual card.

Versatility

Look for a set of place cards that can easily be repurposed for other events in order to get more use out of them. Whether it’s an option with multiple colors or one with vintage calligraphy, choosing something versatile gives you more options in case other parties come up down the line.

Availability

Confirm availability if you need the place cards shipped or delivered quickly or if you need them in bulk amounts for larger events. It is helpful to purchase from vendors that offer quick turnaround times and have reliable customer service teams in case any problems arise during transit.

Eco-Friendliness

Look for place cards made from recycled materials or sustainably sourced paper/cardstock in order to be kind to the environment while still having great-looking table settings. Many vendors offer discounts for eco-friendly purchases, which can help save money as well as help reduce waste.
